An Epiphany: Finding My Voice

I won’t lie this post popped in my head as I was dancing around my house with the music blasting.

Right in the middle of One Republic’s Feel Again I realized that I was head over heels in love with myself in that moment. I’ve been a bit lost lately. I keep trying to figure out who I am, what defines me and I am so determined to find my voice.  But as I was belting out the lyrics (water bottle in hand) to Feel Again the search came to an end because who I am, what defines, my voice well that’s all right in front of me. The girl dancing around in her underwear and bra that’s who I am. Dancing, being utterly insane, living that’s what defines me and my voice well I’ve had it all along.

I’m calling this an epiphany because I want everyone to know, if you’re lost and trying to figure out who you are just stop for a second and spend some time with yourself.  You don’t ever really lose who you are, you just forgot to spend time with yourself. Everyday spend twenty minutes with yourself  think, reflect, meditate…whatever makes you happy because that’s who you are.

Style is a direct expression of who you are. When you’re shopping make sure every piece you buy is a piece of you. Have the confidence to wear what ever you want. Don’t let others determine you’re style because your style is you. Remember style is forever and fashion is truly just a season.

Bold Bangs & A Fun Bun

The top knot isn’t going anywhere as the chic hairstyle continues to make its way into 2013. The classic bun has truly evolved as more and more females continue to place it directly at the top of their head. Ranging from prim and proper to messy chic the top knot bun  is a go to look any day of the week. Most recently bangs have become a part of the hairstyle crazy. Blunt and bold straight fringe really adds fierceness to the look. Beyoncé has been rocking it as of late and I have to say the bun and bang look really frames her face and is an extremely bold move on her part

.It’s easy to get lost behind the fringe, but if you can bring your eyes to life with minimal makeup and perhaps a pair of glasses this look seems to be making its ways in 2013.

Justin Timberlake’s New Single is Fashionique Approved!

Justin Timberlake begins his 2013 comeback with a new single entitled “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z. The song is a funky R&B number which takes a few listens to actually like. I approve because of his homage to a man’s suit & tie, which is one of the sexiest things a man can wear when worn right. Justin Timberlake will bring us “The 20/20 Experience” with his new album. Jennifer Lawrence is a Knockout at The Golden Globes

The Silver Linings Playbook star took home the Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy and I must say it was well deserved. The actress did an excellent job in the film and stole the show from Bradley Cooper. I have stay at just 22 Jennifer Lawrence is really making something of her career, gearing up to star in the next installment of the Hunger Games franchise as well as  X-Men. The actresses speech at the globes was short, sweet, and very funny as she came to the stage and blatantly announced beating Meryl Streep.

“Oh, what does it say, ‘I beat Meryl [Streep, a fellow nominee]?’ Jokes aside I am so honored to be a part of this. David, thank you for believing in me and giving me a chance. There’s a reason why so many actors have thanked you from this stage. You are simply the best. Bradley, you’re incredible, and you made me better every single day. Harvey, thank you for killing whoever you had to kill to get me up here today. And the entire cast of this movie, you guys are the heartbeat of this film and it wouldn’t be the same without you guys. Because then there wouldn’t be a cast. And I want to thank my family. Mom, people said you were crazy to believe in me, and you did it anyway. Dad, you taught me to laugh and that has been my salvation through all of this. I want to thank my brothers, Ben and Blaine, I wouldn’t be who I am today without you being mean to me and then really supportive and loving constantly. Jodie Foster Moves Hollywood to Tears with Coming Out Speech

While accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes this past Sunday, Jodie Foster publicly announced she was a lesbian. The actor announced it in such away that was sarcastic yet moving all at once.

“While I’m here being all confessional, I just have the sudden urge to say something I’ve never been able to say in public,” Foster began. “A declaration that I’m a little nervous about. Not quite as nervous as my publicist, huh, Jennifer? But uh, you know, I’m just going to put it out there. Loud and proud. I’m going to need your support. I am — single.”

I woke up this morning to two extremely harsh comments posted on my blog by an anonymous  viewer. My first thought was to delete them, but upon second thought I decided to take the harsh comments and start blogging again. Honestly, I love being underestimated and harsh criticism is what drives me to be great! It may be backwards thinking for some, but it works for me.

I’m human so I am no where near perfect. I can’t post everyday and sometimes I might not post for months, but I really do love blogging. It’s hard work, but it’s so satisfying.I’ve been keeping a journal since I was in 5th grade and I don’t write in it daily but it does document most of my life events. I want to get a bit more personal on my blog. Sharing with you my personal life and struggles all while giving you fashion advice and updates.

For along time I have been updating all of you with pure fashion news and this time around I hope to update you with a bit more about me. So I know I haven’t posted since last October and I’ve probably lost most of my followers, but there is nothing wrong with starting over. So here I am starting over for fourth maybe fifth time. Hopefully I can make things a little better this time around.
