The first thought that comes to mind when I think about overalls is me in kindergarten dressed in overalls with a floral shirt and boots. At the time I thought I was so fashionable, but I must admit we all have our fashion low lows. But now that I think about it overalls were just so comfortable, which just might be the reason they’re back in trend. I’m not talking about the long farmer overalls, no those will stay dead forever. Overall shorts have struck a chord with fashionistas who are transforming the farmer look and making overalls sexy. Pairing them with a pair of heels and wearing bandeau’s underneath. I really think this brings a whole new life to overalls. Nevertheless, this a very daring trend move. I’m not sure if someone like myself would bring back overalls into my own wardrobe, but it is a thought.
I think when we all get dressed in the morning we aim for feminine simplicity. The idea that it took nothing to look this good; all we did was jump out of bed with perfect hair and threw on a few items of clothing, that’s feminine simplicity. In reality it takes a whole lot more for us to walk out the door looking effortlessly beautiful, but it’s ok for us girls to spend time on ourselves. I love topping dresses with cardigan because they really do keep you warm and they look so good together. Your cardigan can be shorter than your dress or as long as your dress, but never longer. The most feminine touch is a skinny belt which can be worn on top of the cardigan and the dress or just on top of the dress. Personally I like when the skinny belt cinches the dress so that way you have the option of removing the cardigan when ever you want. The cardigan and dress look will be a go to staple this spring. Just so you know this is my exact outfit for today!
So many people fear bright colors, it’s like they are deadly or something. But there is nothing wrong with adding a little bit of life to your outfit. When ever I go out I make an effort to wear vibrant fluorescent colors. Why you ask? First of all, I like to stand out but most of all vibrant colors look fantastic against my skin tone and they can look great on yours too. It’s all about taking the risk and having the willingness to be bold. Wear a fluorescent hue on a rainy, you’ll surely add life to gray skies.
Floral pants are a bold move, but I think I might give it a whirl. When I think floral I always think about my grandma for some reason, but I have to get that out of my head if I really expect to pull these babies off. Personally I think floral pants look best right above the ankles with a pair of heels or boat shoes. Some girls have tried wearing them with combat boots, but I think the boots break up the floral pattern in a weird way. So being an adventurer I am going to try wearing floral pants as a more dressy casual type of look, so maybe to dinner or something. Let me know how you work your floral pants.
I think Spring is officially here because it’s 80 degrees in Ithaca and everyone is laying on the quad and playing frisbee. So being the fashionista’s we are I know the first thought that comes to mind is “What should I wear?” All this gorgeous weather and not a single outfit idea. Go for color and lot’s of it. Wear stripes, colorful stripes. Colorful horizontal stripes just pop on any skin tone. It’s such a classic look that can be paired with any neutral color. Have fun and make sure you wear sunblock while playing outside in the shining sun.
The crop top is a spring staple and I’m not going to lie you need to have the body for it. Not to brag, actually yes to brag I have been working on my abs all winter and I am so crop top ready. The crop top is my go to shirt for spring. Pair it with shorts or a skirt it works and it’s fun and flirty. Believe it or not crop tops come in all different lengths. Personally I like to wear the longer less midriff showing crop tops during the day. Just the other day I wore a tribal crop top and paired it with jean shorts, a long necklace, and sandals and it totally worked I got compliments left and right. Fridays and Saturday nights are saved for full on midriff showing crop tops. This is such a fun way to change it up from the usual blouse. So start doing your 6 minute abs and get ready for crop top central because it’s a spring essential.
I love the oranges, pinks, yellows and the bright colors for spring. But I think mint green is a forgotten color in all of spring pandemonium. I’ll say it a hundred times over Lady Gaga called it right when she said … Continue reading
Too often girls find out it’s 75 degrees and they think it’s time to break out the super short booty shorts, flip-flops, and tube tops. I’m here to tell you the only time for that kind of outfit is the … Continue reading
